Condensate Recovery Economics
The annual value of recovering condensate across energy, water, chemicals and blowdown.
Inputs
Total annual saving
110,574€
Energy component
74,574€
Details
| Water component | 30,000 € |
| Chemicals component | 6,000 € |
| Condensate reaching the boiler | 2,000 kg/h |
| Lost as flash steam | 0 kg/h |
| Returned condensate temperature | 143.6 °C |
| Heat recovered | 300.9 kW |
| Annual CO₂ avoided | 396.4 t/yıl |
| System note | Closed system: the condensate returns hot with no flash loss. |
Assumptions
- THE BLOWDOWN SAVING IS NOT INCLUDED HERE. Returning condensate dilutes the feedwater TDS and cuts the blowdown needed; that term shows up in the Blowdown Rate calculation and adds on top of this total.
- The condensate is taken as saturated water at the trap outlet. Sub-cooled condensate flashes less and an open system loses less.
- Capital cost (piping, pump, tank) is not included; this gives the annual SAVING, not the payback period.
