Air Mixed in Steam — Air Fraction from Measurement
The air fraction in the line from the measured pressure and temperature. If pressure and temperature disagree, the difference is air.
Inputs
Air fraction (by volume)
0.0991
Temperature lost
3.525K
Details
| Diagnosis | SIGNIFICANT air — the vent is missing, blocked or undersized. Heating performance is affected. |
| Temperature this pressure should give | 133.5 °C |
| Partial pressure of steam | 2.703 bar a |
Assumptions
- The measured temperature is taken as the saturation temperature of the steam PARTIAL pressure; the reading must come from inside the steam.
- A low temperature can have other causes (heat loss, wet steam). This attributes the WHOLE difference to air; read it alongside the other symptoms.
